Each February, EWeek, or Engineering Week, shines a spotlight on engineers to increase understanding and interest in engineering.
From industrial and mechanical engineers to computer and electrical engineers, Honda has many engineering jobs. Whether they are designing seats in a vehicle or working out problems on the plant floor, engineers contribute to Honda daily. Read on to find out more about Honda engineers, including what drives their passion for engineering at Honda.
Honda’s culture and core values allow all to have an impact. As a young engineer, many companies would put a lower value on my ideas and potential, but Honda sees it as an opportunity to grow, change and dream.
Samantha Schoenherr, Marysville Auto Plant
I am most proud of my work on the new 2023 Honda Pilot. Although I started working at Honda part-way through the project, I was immediately able to participate in the development! I worked with cross-functional teams to design and test parts to achieve aerodynamic targets. I was really proud to see the new Pilot commercials and see my designs in action!
Nicole Whiting, Marysville Auto Plant
From detailed instruction in the various manufacturing processes within my own plant to a fascinating tour of the impressive HALO Wind Tunnel facility, I am consistently exposed to new ideas and technology that challenge my mind and help me grow as an engineer.
Hannah Clayton, Transmission Manufacturing Plant – Georgia
I am most proud of my work in Model Based Development, which involved modeling the climate control systems for simulation and testing. I am drawn to this method of development because of its potential in testing efficiency and creation of logic driven systems.
Jason Chuang, Auto Development Center
My experiences as an engineer at Honda have ranged from overseeing the plant power grid, leading multi-million-dollar projects, being the plant energy lead, managing facilities maintenance and managing plant expansion. The opportunities are endless at Honda!
Michael Gordon, Alabama Auto Plant
I think the field of engineering is where the innovation happens in Honda. I think we have a ton of brilliant individuals, and when they work together, they can create unlimited possibilities now and forever to come.
